Outdoor Activities in East Yorkshire

Here are just some of the outdoor activities you can do near Westfield Country Park:

There are several courses in the area, the closest being Burstwick Country Golf Course which is 6 miles from Westfield and offers both 9 and 18 holes to visitors over a par 70 course. A driving range and the ever popular 19th hole are also available.

Fancy more than one round during your break? Four of the most beautiful courses in East Yorkshire have teamed up to offer a great rate to play on their courses.

There is a family run stables locally that offer lessons for any level rider. Alternatively you can explore the Westwood at Beverley by horseback!

Our lakes are well stocked with carp to 27lb 8oz and bream to 12lb 4oz. Lake 2 has tench to 4lb 4oz, ghosties to 9lb. Rudd, roach and perch to 1lb 8oz, barbel of a pound, plus the odd small chub.

For a day of adventure Go Ape! Spend the day exploring the forest from the treetops using a huge zip wire or leap off Tarzan Swings and enjoy high ropes obstacles in some of Britain’s most breathtaking scenery. Or closer to the ground use the segways to explore. (Please be aware that this experience is for those aged 10 years and over and requires booking in advance.)

The East Riding is a mecca for those who love to walk! Not only is there the popular Wolds Way, but many tempting coastal walks as well.

The Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail is a 79 mile trail that runs along the crest of the Yorkshire Wolds from Filey to Hessle. It passed under the Humber Bridge, which on completion in 1981 was the longest suspension bridge in the world, and also passed the Medievel village of Warren Percy.

We had a lovely stay at Westfield Country Park. The lodge was very spacious and had everything we needed. It was spotlessly clean and the hot tub was amazing. By far the best place I have ever been and have already booked to come back in August. Very helpful staff – just amazing!

Absolutely fantastic stay here, just what the doctor ordered, peace and tranquillity. The surroundings are amazing and the three lakes are well stocked with fish. The lodges are spot on very, very clean, the bed comfy and had some great nights sleep. Definitely going back at some point we loved it!

Couldn’t have been any more perfect. It was clean, warm and lovely. The hot tub was mega. It was private from people walking past but also looked over the lake. When you’re laid in the tub on a clear night you could see the stars which made it even more perfect.
